Dont be too hard on mike. a few people are pissed at mike saying he was a jerk for apparently destroying tina's dreams or some crap like that. he wasnt destroying her dreams, he was just saying the seniors will leave and its their last time to shine. I do think tina had every right to be mad about the lack of solos and attention and everything she said to rachel in the hallway was 100% true however I do feel that complaining about the lack of solos a WEEK before nationals is being unreasonable

I think she just hit her breaking point. It was bound to happen after three years of being in the shadows. Yes, Rachel is a senior but so is Quinn, Puck, Mike, Santana, Kurt and Finn but are they getting solos at Nationals? No. To make it fair they shouldn’t have done any solos.

Mike was being a dickhead. Texting his girlfriend saying she’s being unreasonable because Rachel is “one of a kind” is just awful. He should have at least tried to see her point of view.

I’ve tolerated Mike up until, and even like him at some points, but this was just too sore a point for me. I’ve missed season one Tina so much and it looked like we almost had her back, but of course that was only for half an episode until she was reminded that Rachel is a special snowflake who deserves everything.

They finally give her credit and make her take a stand, to the point where I felt she became season one Tina again, and then they took it all away because Rachel Berry is “exceptional”.

Also, fuck Mike in this episode.

it’s not because of the writing. So tell me why they don’t do it?

Maybe because the actors just don’t do it?
Just look at Finchel, as much as I hate the couple, you can see the natural chemistry and you can see all their little moments in the background. I higly doubt all of those are written down, they’re in the moment and ad libbed because that’s what some couples do.
And hey, if it is written like that and I’m wrong, I think you’d better worry about your ship.
